It's in The Conversation

The Equation

Organisations take comfort in implementing systems and processes to drive improvement or rectify deficiencies.  However, applying any system or process will eventually come down to a conversation.  And the equation is a simple one: great system/process + poor conversations = ineffective system/process. Poor conversations result in under-performance, ineffective leadership, low staff engagement, poor succession planning, high staff turnover and many other ailments.  So, what are the benefits of holding more effective conversations? No surprise, it's improvement in all of the above plus a whole lot more.

Personal Development

This innovative modular programme improves confidence and competence to address any challenge (both positive and not so positive) involving people through everyday conversation.  It deepens the level of thinking on both sides of the conversation, generating higher levels of awareness which in turn supports a shift in attitudes, choices and actions.  This isn’t training - it’s personal development in a small group setting.

Skills-Focused

The key difference is our focus on actual skills rather than theories or models.  The skills are defined, then practiced, and progress is measured. Participants set their own starting point and progress at their own rate through multiple practices and reviews. Our performance coaches are experts in developing skills to a set timeline as opposed to having nice chats to generate warm feelings.  (Note. There’s nothing wrong with warm feelings.)  Using actors, practices use real events, keeping it practical and relevant.   Measurable improvement in competence naturally boosts participants’ confidence.  Real 'play' with the skills between modules keeps the skills in focus which embeds the development.

It’s different.  It’s challenging.  It’s fun.  It works.

Testimonials

JJ

Team Leader, Targeted Youth Support, London Borough of Sutton

"I have been working with young people for 20 years in various capacities. In 2018 I was enrolled into a training that changed my practice not only in my career, but my approach to life and challenges. The coaching training provided me with a skill set to question myself and make calculating yet great
decisions for self. Engaging with young people and families the training armed me with a new and progressive
approach in my conversations and dramatically improved my target outcomes in all areas. I can say that it has shaped the way I think and question both myself, loved ones and clients."

JN

Chief Exec, British Safety Council

"Keith’s performance conversation training is second to none. It really shifts the dial in terms of
equipping you with the tools, skills and confidence you need to make every performance
conversation an effective one. Even seasoned managers with relatively high levels of capability came
away with game changing insights that turned their conversations from good to great. Suitable for
everyone, and immensely powerful for individuals and the organisations they work in."

NM

Head of Marketing, Gloucester Rugby

“Having taken part in a few coaching courses during my career, I admit, I was a little sceptical coming
into Keith’s first session. My concerns were totally invalid, however. His focus on practical lessons, sharing between the group and actually ‘giving it a go’ instead of endless presentations and theory proved incredibly rewarding. I came away equipped with genuine tools to have productive conversations thanks to conscious listening and thought provoking questions. I’d highly
recommend!”

Director, Innermost Consulting

Keith’s ability to help people to have high quality conversations that rapidly change performance, is
outstanding.  His background in elite athletics, combined with his years of experience working in organisations, gives him a unique perspective on how to rapidly change performance.  This enables him to develop others to bring very high levels of challenge and very high levels of support to potentially difficult conversations.
We have worked with Keith for many years as part of our culture change programmes – including many in the NHS.  He has helped people (from Ward to Board) to have no-nonsense, adult to adult conversations with each other about what needs to change, which has significantly accelerated the
behavioural changes required.
